Compass Kids Crew is a children's educational app designed to provide safe, curated video content. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who This App Is For

Compass Kids Crew is designed for children ages 4–12 under parental supervision. Parents set up and manage the app through Crew Control. We comply with COPPA and applicable laws.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Child's age — entered by the parent. Stored locally and in iCloud. Never shared with third parties.
• Parent preferences — time limits, allowed/blocked keywords, notification settings. Stored locally and synced via iCloud between parent devices only.

Information Collected Automatically

• Screen time data — minutes watched per day and by category. Stored on device and iCloud only.
• Video interactions — categories watched for reward tracking. Stored on device only.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect names, email, phone numbers, or any PII from children or parents.
• We do not collect location data, use advertising identifiers, or sell data.

Use of YouTube API Services

Our application uses YouTube API Services to search for and display curated educational videos based on Crew Control standards. By using our application, you agree to be bound by the Google Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect via YouTube API

We use the YouTube Data API to search for publicly available videos. We do not access or collect data from your YouTube account — the app does not require a YouTube login. We use this data only to display filtered video options. We do not share this data with third parties or use it for advertising.

Data Storage and Deletion

We cache video search results locally; cached data is cleared when parent settings change. You may request data deletion at any time by emailing julie@employee-one.com.

User Revocation of Access

You can revoke our app's access to your data at any time via the Google Security Settings page. Your use of YouTube content is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

iCloud Sync

Parent settings are synced via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to this data.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app.
